Update on my 6D hyperreal eyebrow embroidery

Hey guys!

I just would like to provide an update on my eyebrows journey 😹

It has been almost three weeks now and it has been the best. Not the perfect one but I totally love my new brows.

It is true that you will love how it is on the first day of the procedure. It seems like the shape and color are perfect!

However, It will be at its darkest state on the second and third day after the procedure. This time I strongly recommend not to plan any outings or photoshoot as people would start noticing your dark and broad brows!

This is how it looks like on day 2:

Then it gets lighter every day although it is starting to get really itchy. There is also scabbing which is expected as it heals.

Then on June 1Oth:

It now looks more natural which I really love! No need to spend few minutes for eyebrows which saves me a lot of time. Horay!

Please let me know your thoughts on this! I will update again after a month. 👍

Love,

Van❤️

Buracai de Laiya

Hello loves,

Today I wanted to provide a brief review on one of the newest resorts in Laiya, Batangas.

Philippines celebrated Independence Day last June 12th. That means, happy long weekend for us employees. We spent two nights and three days to a resort called Buracai de Laiya.

It took us around 3-4 hours to get there from Manila. We left the house at 10AM and arrived at around 2PM. Maybe without traffic, it could be around 2-3 hours.

We used the mobile application waze to make sure that we get to the destination as the resort is a bit located at the farthest part of Laiya. Although there will be tour guides when you reach Laiya, I still recommend to check it with Waze. However, there would be areas without internet connection so I suggest for you to save your map first.

Buracai de Laiya is situated right after the more known resorts such as Aquatico and Aqua Verde which are both fully booked that time.

When we arrived at our destination, a person in the front desk asked how many people will be staying in one room, because the room that we got could only accommodate 3 adults and 1 child. We need to pay 1,500 php for every additional person beyond the allowed number of persons per room4. They also have mandatory payment of 1000php per head on top of the 7,500 room rate which we think is very unreasonable.

The 1,000php covers breakfast and dinner buffet. As per their management, it is a policy for weekend guests.

Our room is really small but the good part is it has balcony and a sea view. From there we could easily check their swimming pool and beach area.

We had our  merienda in their restaurant. They serve good food although it is a bit pricey for their serving. We do not have a choice by the way because there is no nearby restaurants or even supermarket within the area.

However, when we had our dinner buffet, we are not satisfied with their food choices as well as the food itself. We thought that we will never come back to add to our frustration that there is no mobile signal in their resort!

We survived three days without communicating to anyone though.

We love their infinity pool although it could be very crowded because they also accommodate day tours. But we did not like the beach. There were sharp stones and shells so definitely I do not encourage you to walk barefoot on the shore.

Overall, I think the price for this resort is too high given their ammenities and service. Although it could be a very good opportunity for families and friends to bond because there are less distractions. It feels like you are isolated in an island, away from social media and other stuff. You can just spend time over food, swim, or even try some beach activities. They offer snorkling, scuba diving, banana boat, flying fish, kayak, parasailing, and a lot more!

Thanks for reading!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

DFA Aseana renewal of passport

We have already booked our tickets for our trip to Seoul next month. This is unexpected so we were not able to renew our passports earlier.
Although we have already confirmed appointment on June 23rd, I don’t think our passports will be available before July. I have a multiple entry Korean visa but my daughter doesn’t have yet so we need to accomplish everything to ensure that everything is settled before our upcoming trip.

Good thing DFA has this courtesy lane for government employees and their beneficiaries, children under 7 years old, pwd, pregnant, and senior citizens. We called DFA Aseana to confirm if I can also avail when I’m with my 7 year old daughter and they said ‘yes’.

Come weekend, we made sure that our documents are complete as we try our luck on Monday.

So today is the day and currently still waiting in line to be accommodated. We went to the second floor of DFA Aseana to submit our accomplished forms, person from the front desk advised us to wait until they call our names. We waited for atleast 20minutes then they gave us numbers and asked us to wait outside.

It has been three hours already since we arrived and everyone is already frustrated. We are still waiting for 15 more people before our number be called. Our line is only for its first step which is processing.. imagine how many hours more do we need to endure!

In the processing window, they asked the following documents:

  1. Photo copy of the front page of old passport
  2. Photocopy of NSO birth certificate
  3. Old Passport if you are for renewal
  4. Filled application form

Payment is a bit fast as we were able to settle in just 5 minutes. We paid 1,200 each to expedite the release of our passport and opted for pick up.
Then we waited an hour or more for the last step which is data processing and capturing of photo.

They will get the receipts and will ask for your right and left index and thumbmark as well as signature. We look already so exhausted when they took our photo so I will remember this nightmare for 5 years since our passports’ validity is 5 years.

They asked me to review and ensure that all our data is correct and asked me to sign as an agreement that I would need to shoulder any additional expenses if there are errors in our passports. Then finally they gave back our old passports, receipts and told us to claim our passports June 15th!

We left DFA Aseana at 4pm! 7 loooong hours to renew our passports! But I am still happy that we are more certain that we will make it to Korea 😉

Although I still do hope that they do something about this. No one would like to spend the entire day renewing their passports!

How is your experience in renewing your passports? I hope it is not as bad as what I experienced. Please feel free to write below, I’d be happy to know your thoughts!

Permanent Makeup Manila by Pauline Ylaya

Welcome back guys!

Sorry I’ve been very busy these past few days but I wanted to share to you what I have done yesterday to make my eyebrows more defined.

I went to Permanent Makeup Manila by Pauline Ylaya and had Hyperreal 6D eyebrow embroidery which is something that is very known today!

I have always wanted to have a nice and defined eyebrows because I used to have spares brows and I look really weird without doing my brows. I need to draw and fill in the gaps so that I have more confidence in facing the world. Like what I have said, kilay is life!

So after a week of contemplating, I have finally decided to try their lash lift with semi permanent mascara which I have blogged several days ago.

I love how it turned out and since Pauline’s assistant Vicky is very nice she informed me that someone has cancelled and I can be accommodated June 2nd.

I secured my payment to keep my appointment via paypal.

I have also tried to read several blogs first prior to my appointment to set any expectations and the procedure itself.

As per my preparation, I made sure that my skin is well hydrated and clean because after the procedure, I need to wait for 3-5 days before I can wash the area. I also took long bath that day as I know it would be difficult to wash my hair because I would need to be extra careful not to wet any area near my brows.

Come June 2nd, I woke up early for my appointment with Ms. Pauline since she personally do these procedures and mentioned from other blogs that she only does three procedures per day.

Before leaving my place, I made sure to take a photo of myself first as the tattoo will stay for at least a year. I wanted to see a before and after photo of course:

I was scheduled at 3pm but I arrived 15 minutes late. I had to take grab to go there but my driver is unfamilair of the place and did not follow waze. So we got lost in Sucat and had to ask around where is the west service road. So my advice to anyone going there, check their map first and make sure you show the map to your driver prior to going to the area.

When I arrived in their clinic, there is still one customer inside and Pauline is still doing her brows. Vicky – her assistant asked me to fill out several pages of terms and conditions as well as personal data. While I fill out these documents, Vicky told me that she will already apply the numbing cream while I wait for my turn. This will help for me not to feel anything or at least just a little pain when we start with the procedure.

It took around an hour before the first customer left the clinic. Ms. Pauline introduced herself but told me to wait a little more while we wait for the numbing cream to take effect. I think that is the purpose why they suggest their clients to come early so that while you wait, they can already apply the numbing cream.

After an hour, Pauline went back to me and asked me to sign a waiver stating that the color might fade faster due to the medicine I had to take for my thyroid. I was expecting her to briefly explain the procedure but she just asked me to lie down so we can start. I left my bag on one of the tables and asked her how painful will it be so I am ready. She asked my tolerance level to pain and honestly I told her that it is pretty low. She mentioned that it might feel like as if you someone is threading your eyebrows.

Pauline took a photo of my eyebrows prior to the procedure then she started measuring my brows and asked me to face the mirror so she could assess better.

She provided me two options on how I wanted my brows to look like. On the left side, she drew a more straight full brows based from the natural shape of my brows. It is easier to maintain since we just have to follow my brows and just filling any parts with no hair or defining the edges. On my right, she showed a shape with a higher arch which she thinks is more appropriate to my face shape. She noted that the one with higher arc will help emphasize my cheekbone better and will make my face slimmer compared to the straighter brows which makes my face round.

Although the one with arch will be more difficult to maintain since I needed to pluck any hair around the area, I am still happy to look slimmer with my new brows and it would be easier for me to change brows shape since I would just need to fill in the arch to go to a straighter and fuller brows.

After deciding, microblading is next!

Pauline asked me if I feel anything and I honestly said no. Although I am hearing a buzzing sound, it felt nothing in most parts. Actually plucking or threading your brows is more painful that having this. I am really surprised. Although, I can feel that she is cutting my skin multiple times it did not hurt much. Then she applied another numbing cream mixed with the hair dye. We had to wait for 5 minutes at least.

Then she wiped off the hair dye with numbing cream then it felt sore! But who am I to compalin? I am seeing pretty brows in the making already. We had three rounds for this as she is very meticulous to ensure that you will leave happy and contented!

After three rounds, here is the finished product! This is right after the procedure:

Tadaaa..

I am so happy with the result!

Pauline mentioned that it may look darker on the night of the procedure and will even go darker on the next days. Then will go lighter around 50% but I just need to wait til 1 month to finally see the final result of my hyperreal 6D eyebrow embroidery!

These are photos
taken an hour after the procedure:

Vicky handed me an after kit care and receipt:

She told me to apply the ointment thrice a day from my third to seventh day.

After a day, so far my brows are indeed darker and shinier! I can see the cuts starting to heal though. It looks kinda weird but will see what it looks like after a week.

I will update again after a week! I hope to get best result!
