Buracai de Laiya

Hello loves,

Today I wanted to provide a brief review on one of the newest resorts in Laiya, Batangas.

Philippines celebrated Independence Day last June 12th. That means, happy long weekend for us employees. We spent two nights and three days to a resort called Buracai de Laiya.

It took us around 3-4 hours to get there from Manila. We left the house at 10AM and arrived at around 2PM. Maybe without traffic, it could be around 2-3 hours.

We used the mobile application waze to make sure that we get to the destination as the resort is a bit located at the farthest part of Laiya. Although there will be tour guides when you reach Laiya, I still recommend to check it with Waze. However, there would be areas without internet connection so I suggest for you to save your map first.

Buracai de Laiya is situated right after the more known resorts such as Aquatico and Aqua Verde which are both fully booked that time.

When we arrived at our destination, a person in the front desk asked how many people will be staying in one room, because the room that we got could only accommodate 3 adults and 1 child. We need to pay 1,500 php for every additional person beyond the allowed number of persons per room4. They also have mandatory payment of 1000php per head on top of the 7,500 room rate which we think is very unreasonable.

The 1,000php covers breakfast and dinner buffet. As per their management, it is a policy for weekend guests.

Our room is really small but the good part is it has balcony and a sea view. From there we could easily check their swimming pool and beach area.

We had our  merienda in their restaurant. They serve good food although it is a bit pricey for their serving. We do not have a choice by the way because there is no nearby restaurants or even supermarket within the area.

However, when we had our dinner buffet, we are not satisfied with their food choices as well as the food itself. We thought that we will never come back to add to our frustration that there is no mobile signal in their resort!

We survived three days without communicating to anyone though.

We love their infinity pool although it could be very crowded because they also accommodate day tours. But we did not like the beach. There were sharp stones and shells so definitely I do not encourage you to walk barefoot on the shore.

Overall, I think the price for this resort is too high given their ammenities and service. Although it could be a very good opportunity for families and friends to bond because there are less distractions. It feels like you are isolated in an island, away from social media and other stuff. You can just spend time over food, swim, or even try some beach activities. They offer snorkling, scuba diving, banana boat, flying fish, kayak, parasailing, and a lot more!

Thanks for reading!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
