Shawarma Bros

I would like to share with you my experience with Shawarma Bros!

This is the most talked in town Shawarma house in Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill.

This is actually my first time to try their food but I have already received great feedback from my officemates and friends.

Their store is a bit small compared to the avaerage restaurants in the area. It is located at second floor of Venice Piazza.

We tried their chicken and beef rice shawarma with side dish.

To be honest, I like their shawarma better than in Halal guys. Although prices are of the same range, I think I would still go to this one.

We also tried their chicken tederns and have sworn how delicious it is! I like the sweet garlicy flavor of it. Perfect for my tastebuds although my boyfriend did not like it that much.

You will get all three sauces in this order but if you opted to try their beef or chicken rice meal it only comes in two types of sauces.

Prices are at 150-250 per meal depending if you would like to upgrade so you will have side dish of your choice. They also offer 35php + to upsize drink.

I am also inlove with their yougurt drink priced at 110php it is so good!

Before I forget, if you will try to dine here, do nit forget to ask if your company is affiliated or in partnership with Shawarma Bros to get discounts!

I hope you find this helpful and let me know if you have any questions or comments 😉
With love,

Van ❤️

Review: Tong Yang Hotpot

Hi everyone!

This is actually my first time to visit Tong Yang Hotpot in Makati.

My officemates and I went there last Sunday for dinner. Since we came in a group of ten people, they offered their private room for us. It was nice although we felt a bit secluded but it is also good since we felt that our things are more secured.

There are not much food choices compared to other buffets I have been to. Although I did not expect much since it is also cheap. I think 500+ php if hotpot only and 600+ if grill + hotpot.

Everything is pretty much self service here. You will be the one who will scoop for your icecream and other desserts.

They have several choices for drinks though but you got to check their glasses as they are not clean. Well, most of them! I had a hard time finding a decent one. Their ice was placed in a jug type the one you will use for family outing! I was really shocked but just made fun of it.

I also noticed that there were not much available staff to accommodate us. Food has not been replenished right away and we needed to get their attention for them to refill.

They also have few spaces and tables for diners and parking spaces are limited as well. It was really crowded when we visited. Which is not convenient if you are sitting together with other customers.

Overall it was fun, although I would rather spend more money to have a quality buffet. Their place is pretty outdated and not that appealing.

With what I experienced, I might not go back.

I do not have photos of their food but I got some from our private room.

Faustina’s @ UPLB

Hello There!

Welcome back to my page. ❤️

Today, I will provide a brief review on Faustina’s here at UPLB.

Their restaurant is located just beside the campus (Raymundo gate) of University of the Philippines Los Baños.

It has been in business for about 5 years now. I revisited them to check out their food as it has been more than three years since my last visit.

Their area is cozy although a bit small. I wonder how many students will fit in here. They have a lot of food choices but a bit pricier for students but definitely cheaper if you are used to eating at restaurants.

We tried one of their best sellers called Silindro ribs. It comes with barbecue sauce and spicy vinegar. We also ordered junior size alfredo with bacon although we didn’t like it that much.
Their Silindro is at 195php while their Alfredo is at 95php.

The overall ambiance is perfect for students who want to distress from school works and the likes.

I hope to be able to come back again soon!
Love,

Van

Spending Mother’s Day at APU restaurant, City of Dreams

Let me share with you my thoughts and impressions on this classic Filipino Cusine in City of Dreams Manila.

I was browsing the internet the day before Mother’s day to see where I can bring my mom for lunch. I know that malls would be full and it would be difficult to reserve seats for lunch especially if we are in a group of more than 5. Also, I wanted to make my mom feel more special by bringing her to a decent restaurant. Somewhere she has never been.

I was initially checking restaurants in Sofitel such as Spiral but as expected, price is really steep! So I checked City of Dreams instead. I have been to couple of restaurants in COD such as Erwins and Red Ginger but for me nothing fancy or special for both. Although personally I still prefer Erwins since I am more of a chicken-burger person. I tried to browse all other restaurants within City of Dreams until I came across APU. What caught my attention is that they are serving Filipino food, the place looks fancy yet cozy. I also checked their menu and they have a lot of food choices and although it is also pricey, I find it way better than the others within the same range.

My daughter and I. On mom’s day, they have prepared a corner good for picture taking.
It was my mom, dad and sister who arrived first at the venue so they decided where to seat. I also learned that on weekends and holidays they do not accept any reservations and with that, one should be there early to ensure that they could accommodate you. After more than 20 minutes of waiting, three buko juices were served. It is funny how it took them approximately 20minutes to prepare buko juices served in a nut shell. We even came first before their drinks got served.

Then a guy waiter approached us and handed us a tablet where we could check on their menu. We ordered several dishes such as Bicol express, Beef Nilagang, Fried Lumpia, Ensaladang Mangga, Lechon Kawali, and Chopseuy.

Surprisingly, their serving size is big except for rice. We ordered 6 cups of plain rice which costs 480 pesos but it seems like still not enough for us. I had to order 1 additional cup of garlic rice for hundred bucks.

We enjoyed our food while we catch-up. We asked for additional soup for 80 pesos since we wanted more. Their mango in Ensaladang Mangga is too sour that we could not finish it. Their Bicol Express is also not that spicy. I know they can do better than that given its price.

But overall, we still had a great experience in this restaurant. They have also approachable and accommodating staff. One of them even offered to take our photos as many as we want. Although you will need to constantly remind them to refil your water. But it is just a minor area for improvement.
We paid around 5K for all we ordered inclusive of 500 php service charge.

Still, two thumbs up! You can easily fall in love with the place – their interior design, ambiance and their crowd. I will recommend this to my friends and will definitely be back soon. 👍🏼
